Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Information

According to OSHA, Tennessee operates its own worker safety and health program under a plan approved by the U.S. Department of Labor. This program provides safety and health protections to most private sector workers, as well as state and local government employees within Tennessee.

Tennessee State Plan

Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Division (TOSHA) is operated under the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Tennessee has a limited number of state-specific standards with requirements different from those of federal OSHA, such as some general industry standards, hazard communication standards and bloodborne pathogen standards.
